Hello, friends! I'm gonna share what is going on in my world with you today
I have come to a point in my life that I have started to realize what I want, exactly. I think? Maybe not, but what I have started to understand is that everybody can take a pretty photo, or fly a drone, or edit a video, or whatever. All the things I can do can be done by somebody else
But what can't be done by somebody else is articulate my own personal vision and voice about something to a person creatively. I ask myself often, "What does this taste like to you, Matthew?" And as I go through my experience of documenting and creating, I am constantly checking to see if I like the flavor of that thing. And is the flavor going to be good for the masses or the people that really get what dish I'm trying to create?
And that's one of those things that I think is freeing. I like making things for me. And I know there are people that have similar tastes and there are people that will find whatever I do to be off-putting or undesirable to them. And you know what? That's really h*ckin rad and I love that about life and creativity and what is going on in my journey
I'm saying all that to say all this. Hi, my name is Matthew Brinker. And I want to continue to find people that like my vision and voice for things and that value it and I want to have conversations with all of those humans about how we can best support each other. And conversely, I want to find people whose visions and voices challenge and expand my own and I want to work with them too and see how we can grow together from the experience
I like the duality of "what can I learn" and "what is this teaching me" in my life. And I hope that you understand why those taste different to me
This may be the only time that I type out, live tweet as one would say, my thoughts to the world in this manner, but I felt like it was important to acknowledge for myself more than anything. I believe that when we put words to things and we acknowledge them, often times beautiful things come from it and you find out things you wouldn't have known before
I bid you ado. Afternoon, friends
